Jeffrey E. Babich, INCE Board Certified, CTS

President & Principal Consultant

Jeff founded BABICHacoustics in 2012. His skills include lead acoustical design, audiovisual consulting, noise control, testing, project management, and business development. He has consulted on hundreds of designs for hospitals, schools, offices, industrial plants, worship spaces, theaters, and multi-family dwellings throughout North America.

Jeff’s love for sound began at a young age when he started playing the piano just prior to turning five years old. Because of his technical skills, he pursued an engineering degree. This led to a job designing and testing aircraft wheels & brakes. His passion for music led him to graduate school in acoustics and his career as an acoustician began in the Baltimore-Washington DC area in 2001 and he moved to Pittsburgh for his first full time position as an acoustical consultant in 2003.

Jeff has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and a Master of Arts in Acoustics & Audio Design from The Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University. He is a Member of the National Council of Acoustical Consultants, a Member of Acoustical Society of America, and a Board Certified Member of the Institute of Noise Control Engineering.

In addition to being a pianist and trumpeter; Jeff also enjoys spending free time with his family, running & competing in triathlons, hiking, skiing, cooking, and gardening.
