BABICHacoustics provided environmental noise and vibration testing for this mixed-used development prior to construction. This site is located directly adjacent to the busway and an active rail line in East Liberty, Pittsburgh, PA. The noise data was used by the Design Team to improve the structure to mitigate vibration into the apartments and commercial tenants.
Post construction acoustical analyses were also completed for various restaurant and fitness tenants including: Choolaah, Zenergy & [solidcore] located directly below the apartments. Noise isolation class analyses were used to provide recommendations to minimize sound transmission. A rooftop mechanical noise analysis was also completed to understand the noise impact to the apartment(s) below.
